Rajasthan Royals, joint table-toppers on points, won the toss and decided to bat on another punishingly hot day in Chennai. They come into the game on the back of two wins, but their captain Rahul Dravid expected a tough match against Chennai Super Kings, who boast one of
the strongest batting line-ups in the competition.
Royals made three changes to the XI that defeated Deccan Chargers: after missing three games due to injury Kevon Cooper returns and takes the place of Johan Botha, Karnataka allrounder Stuart Binny comes in for fast bowler Pankaj Singh, and Shreevats Goswami reclaims the wicketkeeper's spot from Dishant Yagnik, whose two final-over boundaries to seal victory over Chargers wasn't enough to earn him another chance.
Super Kings went in with the same XI that defeated Pune Warriors.
