West Indies v New Zealand, 1st Test, Antigua
Neil Wagner has a strong chance of making his Test debut this week
The fast bowler Trent Boult and the wicketkeeper-batsman BJ Watling have been ruled out of the New Zealand side for the first Test against West Indies, starting in Antigua on Wednesday. Both men are suffering from quad injuries and they did not take part in the tour match against the WICB President's XI, a game in which the New Zealanders narrowly escaped with a draw, leaving 13 players available for selection for the Test.

Chris Gayle will be back in the Test side this week
Chris Gayle is set to play his first Test in more than 18 months after being named in the West Indies squad for the first Test against New Zealand. Gayle has not played Test cricket since the tour of Sri Lanka in December 2010, and he will provide a major boost to the West Indies batting line-up, which has also regained Shivnarine Chanderpaul after he missed the final Test against England due to a side strain.

West Indies sealed their first ODI series win over a Test nation other than Zimbabwe and Bangladesh since April 2008, barely overcoming a heroic century from Ross Taylor, who returned after missing four matches due to a shoulder injury. Taylor was up against too many opponents today - an offspinner conceding two runs an over, a fiery quick bowling at close to 150 kph, and his own batsmen, only one of whom managed a strike-rate of more than 60.

Dwayne Bravo smashed four sixes in 11 ball
Chris Gayle provided the substance, yet again, Dwayne Bravo provided the late blast, and Sunil Narine ended New Zealand's chase before it could even begin. West Indies completed their second big win over New Zealand to take the Florida and Twenty20 leg of the series 2-0. Already weakened by injuries to key players, including captain Ross Taylor, New Zealand had no answer to West Indies' combination of power, explosiveness and intrigue.

New Zealand in West Indies 2012
Ross Taylor injured his left shoulder while attempting to catch Kieron Pollard
New Zealand captain Ross Taylor has been ruled out of Sunday's Twenty20 against West Indies in Florida with a shoulder injury, which is likely to keep him out of early part of the one-day series that begins on July 5 as well. Left-arm spinner Ronnie Hira, too, has also been ruled out of the second Twenty20, after dislocating his finger during Saturday's game.

Will the slow -and-low pitches handcuff Chris Gayle?
Americans have previously claimed PG Wodehouse is American. Over the next two days, the claim they'll lay to a sport Wodehouse wrote extensively and endearingly on will be of a slightly different nature. It will mostly come from those who have moved to America from
